Installing Linrad on a Raspberry Pi

Linrad (together with an A/D converter hardware) forms an SDR receiver.
It has many features, but I find it difficult to use.

- Prerequisites
  - Install packages

sudo apt install libclfft2 libclfft-dev
```
- Build and install
  For version 5.03 source code, go to https://sourceforge.net/p/linrad/code/1068/tree/ Click Download Snapshot.
  For the latest source code, currently 06.00 pre-release, go to https://sourceforge.net/p/linrad/code/HEAD/tree/ Click Download Snapshot.

cd ~/
# Extract your download to ~/linrad
cd linrad
./configure --with-sdrplay3-64
make xlinrad64
```
- Run Linrad

cd linrad
./xlinrad64
```
- Initial setup suggestions
  Linrad will first take you through a long series of configuration settings. You can mostly take the defaults.
  - Select your graphics from A to C => A

    T to select SDRplay. It should display at the top of the window.

    Select RF gain reduction mode
    L to select RF gain reduction as LNA state
    Select LNA state

    Select frequency correction in ppm
    Enter your correction or 0
    Enable DC offset

    Press B
    Use Portaudio

    Select your device from the list by pressing its number
    For latency, enter a low number unless you have problems like audio dropouts
    X to return to the main menu
    Press any key
    Press W to save
    Press D for SSB
    Click CONTINUE, CONTINUE, CONTINUE
    The receive window with waterfall and spectrum display will appear.
    Enter a receive frequency in MHz in the top cell of the box toward the lower left of the window.
    Click in the center of a signal on the waterfall. It should be heard in your speakers.
    You can hold the right mouse button on the center of the smaller detailed waterfall to fine tune the frequency, moving it left or right to go up or down.
    You can also use the mouse wheel.
    Mouse over this area and press F1 for help.
    Press X to exit to previous screen.

Usage notes
You can place the mouse over an object and press F1 for help.
- Selecting a sideband involves moving the BFO slider to the left or right end of the bandpass depending on the desired sideband.
- Press <ESC> to exit Linrad.
